SIPA 15th Anniversary Celebration Activities Successfully Held

On the morning of November 17, the 15th anniversary ceremony of School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Wenzhi Auditorium, Xuhui Campus. Guests present at the ceremony include Jiang Sixian, Party Secretary of SJTU, Li Xiaolin, Silkroad University President, Professor Paul Cleary, member of National Academy of Medicine, former Dean of the Yale School of Public Health, and the Anna M.R. Lauder Professor, Yu Keping, Dean of Peking University School of Government, Wang Zongguang, former Party Secretary of SJTU, Xie Shengwu, former President of SJTU, Ma Dexiu, former Party Secretary of SJTU, Lu Yonghua, Honorary Chairman of SIPA Consultative Committee and former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Austria, Jiang Xueming, member of SIPA Consultative Committee and Chairman of the OSIC Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Zhou Xiaopei, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan, Ye Quyuan, former Executive Vice President of SJTU, Meng Qingyuan, Deputy Mayor of Changning District of Shanghai and SIPA alumni, Zhou Cheng, Deputy Party Secretary of SJTU, Cao Youyi, Deputy Party Secretary of East China Normal University, Yang Yi, member of the standing committee of SJTU Party Committee, Li Jiangqiang, former Member of the Standing Committee of SJTU Party Committee, Zhao Hongyu, the Ira V. Hiscock Professor and Chair of the Biostatistics Department at Yale University, Zhu Qigui, Party Secretary of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, Wang Kaihuai, Member of the Standing Committee of Longchang City and Deputy Mayor of Longchang Municipal Government, Professor Zhong Yang, Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor of SIPA, Hu jinxing, Chairman of More Love Foundation, Lu Zhen, Member of SIPA Consultative Committee and President of Beijing Sensing Technology, Wang Jinghong, Committee Secretary General of International Education Fund Management, Chen Lin, Secretary General of Tao Xingzhi International Education Foundation Managing Committee, Chen Lin, Secretary General of Zijiang Foundation, Zhang Shujun, Chairman of Ai Bang Zhen, Zhu Zhuangfei, Chairman of the Shanghai Yanhou Group, Mao Qiankun, General Manager of Shanghai Qiandong New Energy, and Liang Liang, Chairman of Shenzhen Yixin Technology. Leaders of different departments and schools of SJTU, alumni representatives, SIPA faculty and students, as well as SIPA retirees also attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Zeng Xinkai, a PhD student of SIPA.
Professor Liu Bangcheng and Professor Zhao Hongyu unveiled the SJTU-Yale Joint Research Center for Health Policy. SIPA also signed cooperation agreements with Silkroad University and Longchang Municipal Government of Sichuan, and received donations from alumni, enterprises and organizations including Beijing Sensing Tech, Ai Bang Zhen, and Qiandong New Energy.
On the afternoon of November 17, the development seminar of SIPA was held in Xin Jian building, Xuhui campus. Zhou Cheng, Deputy Party Secretary of SJTU, Lu Yonghua, Honorary Chairman of SIPA Consultative Committee and former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Austria, Dr. Jiang Wenning, Party Secretary of SIPA and Chairman of SIPA Consultative Committee attended the seminar. Ambassador Lu Yonghua hosted the meeting.
On the evening of November 17, the celebration party was successfully held in Wenzhi Auditorium, Xuhui campus. Over 500 people including Lu Yonghua, Zhou Xiaopei, SIPA leadership, teachers, alumni and students gathered at the auditorium. SIPA faculty and students put on an impressive performance, symbolizing the school’s rich culture and diversity.
