Biography:

His research is on social welfare policy and its impacts on the disadvantaged groups, including welfare recipients, left-behind elderly, and rural school children. His current projects are about the association of community environment and the mental health of older people and children, family caregiving of older people living with dementia, and street-level bureaucracy and welfare services delivery. He has collaborative research relationship with Shanghai Mental Health Centre, Shanghai Bureau of Civil Affairs, top Chinese universities, and think tanks such as Shanghai Research Centre on Ageing and China Institute for Urban Governance.
