SIPA holds 2023 graduate commencement ceremony

The 2023 SJTU-SIPA Graduate Commencement Ceremony was held at Xinjian Building on March 24.
On the afternoon of March 24, the 2023 Graduate Commencement Ceremony and Degree Awarding Ceremony of the School of International and Public Affairs, Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Lecture Hall 319, Xinjian Building SJTU Xuhui Campus. WU Jiannan, Dean of the School of International and Public Affairs, ZHANG Xiaoyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International and Public Affairs, WANG Peicheng, Deputy Director of the University Student Affairs Office, LI Zhenquan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International and Public Affairs, LIU Bangcheng, Deputy Dean, LIU Hongsong, faculty representative of the Department of International Relations, SHI Dongbo and TIAN Yuan, faculty representative of the Department of Public Administration, faculty from school administration offices attended the ceremony, and all graduates, as well as some of their parents, relatives and friends attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by WEI Yingjie, Vice Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs.
In his congratulatory speech, Dean WU Jiannan praised the graduates’ outstanding performance in the epidemic period. Combined with the international and domestic situation, Dean WU Jiannan put forward three expectations to the graduates who are about to start a new journey in life around the theme of "young people should be promising". The first is to do what can be done, always maintain a positive state of entrepreneurship in the study and work, adhere to the down-to-earth, and keep in mind that deeds speak louder than words. The second is to become a promising person, always memorize that "When you choose SJTU, you take the corresponding responsibility", have the courage to assume the responsibilities of family, work and the times, know the responsibility, take responsibility for yourself, and fulfill the responsibility in action. The third is to break through the difficult realm, "there is no flame mountain that cannot be passed", When facing problems and challenges, we must not only adhere to the right path, but also innovate, dare to innovate, and be innovative. Finally, he said that even if you graduate and leave school, your alma mater will always be with everyone.
