Delegation from Monash University visited SIPA

On the morning of September 28, Vicki Peel, Deputy Associate Dean of Faculty of Arts at Monash University, and Dr. Lintao Qi of the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics of Monash University visited SIPA. Professor Liu Bangcheng, Vice Dean of SIPA, Li Mingming, Director of the Department of International Relations, and He Lin from the International Affairs Office of SIPA attended the meeting.

First Professor Liu Bangcheng introduced to the guests SIPA’s history, programs, faculty, internationalization, etc., and reviewed the cooperation between the two sides in the past few years. Professor Vicki Peel introduced the new Master program in Public Policy, hoping to continue to promote cooperation with SIPA on joint programs. Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on the progress of the Double Degree Program in International Relations. Professor Liu said that SIPA and Monash Arts can expand cooperation in MPA and short-term training programs, so as to provide eye-opening opportunities for more Chinese students.

SIPA and Monash Faculty of Arts signed an agreement for a Double Master's Degree Program in International Relations in 2016. So far, SIPA has received four students from Monash University, who are currently enrolled in the English-taught Master's Degree named "China's Politics and Economy". After completing the required courses and credits, students will complete their thesis defense at SIPA and eventually receive a Master's Degree in International Relations from Monash University and a Master's Degree in Political Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
