SIPA’s Consultative Committee Holds the Ninth Plenary Meeting

On the morning of June 24, the 9th Plenary Session of the Consultative Committee of SIPA was successfully held in Room 239, Xinjian Building, Xuhui Campus. Professor Jiang Sixian, Secretary of the CPC Committee of SJTU, General Xiong Guangkai, former Deputy Chief of Staff of the PLA and Honorary Dean of SIPA, Lu Yonghua, former Chinese Ambassador to Austria and Director of the Association of Former Diplomats of China, Zhou Wenzhong, member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Group, former Deputy Foreign Minister and former Ambassador to the United States, Mei Zhaorong, former Chinese Ambassador to Germany and currently the Distinguished Research Fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, Lu Zhen, Chairman of Beijing Sensing Technology, Tang Yanhua, Deputy Dead of HR Department of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd, Zhong Yang, Changjiang Distinguished Professor as well as other Consultative Committee members attended the meeting. Also present at the meeting were Dr. Jiang Wenning, SIPA Party Secretary and Director of Consultative Committee and the School leadership team. The meeting was hosted by General Xiong Guangkai, honorary Dean of SIPA.
SIPA Party Secretary Jiang Wenning introduced the school’s situation to the members, including the China Institute for Urban Governance, donations and preparations for the school’s 15th anniversary. General Xiong Guangkai looked back upon his interactions with SIPA in the past 10 years, and expressed his determination to continue to contribute to the school’s development, SJTU Party Secretary Jiang Sixian issued letter of appointment for the new members. After that, the members present offered suggestions on aspects like talent nurturing, academic research, university-industry collaboration, etc. SJTU President Lin Zhongqin met with several members after the meeting.
