Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud Visits SJTU

On the afternoon of May 21, Syracuse University Chancellor & President Kent Syverud, Vice President for Research Dr. John Liu, Dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs Dr. David Van Slyke, and Professor Ruth Chen from the College of Engineering and Computer Science visit Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xuhui Campus. Prof. Huang Zhen, Vice President of SJTU attends the meeting together with Dr. Wu Jiannan, Director of the Division for Development of Liberal Arts, Dr. Jiang Wenning, Party Secretary of SIPA, Prof. Liu Bangcheng and Prof. Peng Bo, Vice Deans of SIPA, and Ms. Liu Jian and Ms. Mei Yueli from the International Affairs Office of SJTU.
Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud gives a brief introduction of Syracuse University, and Vice President John Liu summarizes Syracuse University’s efforts to strengthen research and international cooperation. SJTU Vice President Huang Zhen extends a warm welcome to the guests from Syracuse University, and introduces SJTU’s development in recent years. Dr. WU Jiannan briefs the guests of the development of liberal arts in SJTU.
After that, SIPA Party Secretary Dr. Jiang Wenning presents SIPA’s history and latest achievements, and Dr. David Van Slyke introduces the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. The two sides hope to further strengthen cooperation in academic research, exchange of faculty and students, as well as professional degree programs.
