"The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" by national consultant of UNDP

On 21st March 2018, International students of SIPA learned about Transforming Our World by United Nations “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” organized by Dr. Yangpin Lu lecturer of “Chinese NGO/NPO Management” course.  The class took place by special guest from UNDP Ms. Wang Ruinational consultant of UNDP in China. SIPA students warmly welcomed Ms. Wang as a guest speaker.

Ms. Wang began her presentation with briefly introducing 17 Sustainable Development Goals and Targets, such as; End poverty, reduce inequality, ensure healthy lives, etc.The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals announced at United Nations Headquarter in New York from 25 to 27 September 2015 at Organization celebrates its seventieth anniversary. The Agenda setup for 15 years and requires for full implementation by 2030.

She also mentioned about ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Goal for 2030 is to increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.Later on she shared her experience of holding different workshops in China and the lecture followed by open discussion with Ms. Wang.

Through this class international students not only attended the lecture, but also had chance to actively participate the Agenda. Every student had a chance to present one sustainable development goal, discuss and share their solutions. The best presenter which was Gan-OchirBuyanaa, honored with a gift from Ms. Wang.

It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn about United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. A worthwhile and enjoyable experience for all of students.
