Meet our Alumni - Napattra from Thailand

This week we’ve had the pleasure to interview one of our alumni, Napattra Kamolraksa from Thailand, who has graduated this 2016 and has already found a job in Shanghai!
- Which four words would you use to describe SJTU?
- Multi-cultural, exciting, informative, worthwhile.
- What was your background before joining the CPE?
- After graduating from Thammasat University (Bachelor degree), I joined a newspaper company as a junior marketing position. After working there for some time, I realized the importance of Chinese language; so I went to study abroad in BLCU (Beijing language Culture University). My next step was enrolling myself to SJTU; master degree program.
- Tell us about your overall experience in the CPE. Your own thoughts, both positive and negative!
- Positive: Multi-cultural environment where you observe and learn from new perspectives; variety courses to choose from; many talk sessions/lectures fro experts.
Negative: Administration system.
- You graduated this year and already have a job. How did your studies here help you with your current employment (knowledge, contacts, diploma, etc)?
- Finding a job in shanghai is not easy. As an Asian master degree graduate, I personally feel that “master degree diploma” is an essential thing for expats to have in order to get hired in shanghai. Moreover, Chinese skill is a must for expat who need a well paid job in shanghai.
- Would you recommend the CPE or SJTU in general to people you know?
- I would highly recommend SJTU to others.
- What kind of students do you think should apply for this program?
- “SIPA has the most international and sophisticated faculty in political science and public administration in Mainland China.”
I agree with above statement. This program is for people who want to experience and learn from Chinese leading global experts on each topic relating political science in China.
