Personal Profile:
Jiuyuan Sheng graduated from Nanjing University and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. He is currently the Director of the Taiwan Research Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Tenured Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs. He previously served as the Director of the Taiwan Research Center and a Research Fellow and PhD Supervisor at the Institute of World Economy, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
Scientific Research:
His primary research areas include regional economic cooperation, cross-Strait relations and cross-Strait economic and trade policies, and economic integration in the Yangtze River Delta region.
He has published more than 100 academic papers in various scholarly journals and has authored five monographs and edited one collection of academic papers. He has undertaken more than 20 major and special projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China and provincial- and ministerial-level research programs, as well as more than 70 research projects commissioned by the Shanghai municipal government and other regions.
His monographs include Path Selection and Mechanism Construction of Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation (First Prize for National Monographs on Taiwan-Related Studies), Urbanization and Economic Development in Taiwan, and The Theory and Practice of Regional Economic Cooperation.
