2013 Annual Awards for Excellent International Post-graduate Students

Shanghai Jiao Tong University is going to initiate the 2013 annual appraisals and awards of the excellent international post-graduates, aiming at encouraging the studies of international students, improving the education quality for international students, promoting the internationally cultural exchange and the impact of SJTU, and attracting more international students to SJTU. Matters concerning the appraisals and awards are as follows:
1. Required Qualifications
1) Applicants should be master students or doctoral students with more than one year’s (not including one year) studying experience in SJTU;
2) Students who are hard-working with good or excellent academic performance and zero flunk record. Applicants should be competent in academic research and innovation without any record of disciplinary offence or absence without causes;
3) Those having made contributions to SJTU, China, or the exchange between China and other countries are preferred;
4) Students who have received such awards in the last annual awards are not qualified in this year’s award.
2. The Awarding Categories
First-class awards for five doctoral students: 10,000 RMB/student
Second-class awards for ten doctoral students: 6,000 RMB/student
First-class awards for five master students: 5,000 RMB/student
Second-class awards for ten master students: 3,000 RMB/student
3. Necessary Materials for Appraisal
1) The Application Form for the 2013 Annual Awards of Excellent International Post-graduates;
2) Academic records in SJTU;
3) Over two recommendation letters (one of them must be written by the applicant’s supervisor);
4) Documents related to the applicant’s published thesis;
5) Other materials, certifications or proofs that are necessary and helpful to the appraisal.
4. Acceptable Time for Handing in Applications
October 30, 2013 --- November 30, 2013. Any delayed applications will not be accepted. Please send the application form and related materials to Room 436 in the Graduate School of Minhang Campus
