SIPAer Attend 2019 IRSPM Conference

The 23rd International Research Society for Public Management Conference (IRSPM) was held in Wellington, New Zealand from April 15 to 18. The theme is “Renewing Public Management for Stewardship, Innovation and Impact.”Prof.Xu Jialiang, Prof.Liu Bangcheng, Dr.Tian Yuan, Yao Liu, and Yang Wenting attended the conference. Yao Liu is a second-year and Yang Wenting is a first-year Ph.D. candidate from SIPA.

 In “Big-data research in public administration”panel, Prof.Xu Jialiang and Dr.Tian Yuan presented their research called “Big Data Too Big? Data Examination from One Public Fundraising Internet Information Platform (PFIIP) in China.” Liu Yao made anoral presentation with the title of “Evaluating Cities’ Public Dissatisfaction: A Sentiment Analysis Based on Big Data from Chinese Official Website.” Yang Wenting reported anacademic paper named “Spatial-temporal Effect of Household Solid Waste on Illegal Dumping.”In “Special interest group: Public sector human resource management” panel, Prof.Bangcheng Liu and his co-author presented their research called “From Unleashing Change to Leading for Change: The Psychological Mechanism of Entrepreneurial Leadership in Chinese Public Sector.”In SIG public service motivation”panel, Prof. Liu and his co-author presented another paper calledPsychological processes linking public service motivation and change-supportive intentions: The case of public schools in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq”.

During their stay in Wellington, Prof.Xu Jialiang andProf.LiuBangcheng also exchanged ideas and meaningful discussions with scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium, and other countries.

Prof. Liu also visited University of Victoria in Wellington and had a meeting with Dean. Girol Karacaoglu to exchange ideas of collaboration for two schools.
