Necessity and novelty: Contemporary Chinese diplomacy has always been one of the research hotspots in the international political science community. With the strengthening of China ’s power, the international community has paid unprecedented attention to the diplomacy of the main country. There is no course to systematically discuss the theory and practice of Chinese diplomacy. This course aims to open the black box of diplomacy from the above two latitude systems, analyze Chinese diplomacy, and guide the correct understanding and interpretation of China's diplomatic initiatives.
Systematic: This course will systematically explore contemporary Chinese diplomacy from both theoretical and practical aspects. This course not only analyzes the impact of Chinese diplomacy on the world, but also explains the impact of world politics on Chinese diplomacy.
Feasibility: This course covers a wide range of topics and involves several research directions, which are of great significance. However, the two lecturers have been engaged in related research for a long time, have strong professional qualities, and have achieved relatively rich research results. These results and research experience are The smooth development of this course laid a solid foundation. At the same time, since joining Jiaotong University, the two lecturers have independently designed (or participated in) the design and teaching of several courses in this field (see the attachment for details), and have certain teaching experience. The lecturer's rich scientific research and teaching experience will make the successful development and completion of this course highly feasible.
The role of this course in cultivating graduate students: Knowledge quality: familiar with important theories of ethnic conflicts, religious disputes and international politics at home and abroad, as well as major national and religious issues worldwide. Expand students' international horizons and improve their ability to think critically and creatively.
