Representative of UNHCR China Visits SIPA

On November 13, Mr. Sivanka Dhanapala, representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) China visited SIPA, together with Liaison Officer Ms. Li Sangu. Dr. Jiang Wenning, Party Secretary of SIPA, Professor Liu Bangcheng, Vice Dean of SIPA, Ms. Peng Jingjing and Ms.He Lin from the International Affairs Office of SIPA attended the meeting with the guests.
Dr. Jiang Wenning began with extending a warm welcome to the guests, and briefly introduced the history, disciplines, faculty, students and internationalization of the school. He hopes that SIPA can have the opportunity to expand exchanges and cooperation with UNHCR and other international organizations, and select excellent students to intern at international organizations. Mr. Sivanka extended his congratulations on SIPA’s upcoming fifteenth anniversary, and introduced the responsibilities of UNHCR. The main purpose of his visit is to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with SIPA, and UNHCR welcomes more aspiring young people to join and work there. Professor Liu Bangcheng said that SIPA would actively explore extensive cooperation with UNHCR, especially in the areas of personnel training and academic and intellectual support.
