From October 25th to 27th, the 4^th College Students Case Study Competition of City Governance was successfully held in Shanghai. It is one of the thematic activities of the 2018 Global Cities Forum themed “global city, sustainable development". The competition was sponsored by SJTU and jointly organized by the School of International and Public Affairs and the China Institute for Urban Governance. After a fierce competition, SJTU came out 1^st place, which is also the first time ever that SJTU students won the championship in this competition.

Over the years, SIPA has persisted in helping students become responsible citizens with great virtues and national pride.

Jiang Guangming, a student of SIPA, was awarded the title of "Star of Self-improvement”.

Cultivate students with lofty aspirations

SIPA attaches great importance to moral education, emphasizing social responsibility and academic integrity, and encouraging students to study assiduously and improve their creativity.

Huang Qixuan received the first University Teaching Award, and over 20 teachers of SIPA have won Shanghai or SJTU teaching awards.

Three teaching achievements were awarded the Second Prize of Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award; over 10  courses of SIPA were selected as Quality Courses by Shanghai Municipality or the Ministry of Education.

Graduation employment rate remains at 100% for those entering the workforce upon graduation. Numerous graduates go abroad for further education, and over 60% of SIPA graduates enter positions in vital industries and key fields.

Cultivate students with global vision and innovative spirits

Based on the characteristics of social sciences, SIPA integrates subject resources, builds platforms for innovation, entrepreneurship and social practices, and cultivates students' innovative spirit, academic interest and practical abilities.

Thanks to SIPA students, SJTU received a best-ever First Prize as well as a Second Prize in the social science category of the National Challenge Cup Competition.

SIPA has organized the National Doctoral Forums on Urban Governance for years, with nearly 100  participants each year.

Over the past five years, more than 30 students of SIPA have visited overseas universities such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Yale University, Columbia University, University of Maryland, University of Southern California.

Cultivating well-rounded students with outstanding abilities

Through various measures, SIPA encourages and supports students to carry out various kinds of activities, providing an excellent stage for students to communicate and develop themselves.

SIPA students participated in Model United Nations and won several awards such as the Best Representative.

SIPA won the First Prize of SJTU Awarding Excellent Organization of World Expo Volunteers.

Zhou Bowen, Ge Yeyanran and Zhang Zijiang (undergraduates of SIPA) won the Second Prize in SJTU Entrepreneurship Competition.
