SIPA faculty won "2022 Shanghai Higher Education Excellent Teaching Achievement Award"

September 20 to 26, 2022, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission announced the evaluation results of the "2022 Shanghai Higher Education Excellent Teaching Achievement Award".Faculty members Professor WEI Yingjie, Professor ZHANG Xiaoyi, Professor FAN Bo, Associate Professor JI Chengyuan, and Professor HUANG Qixuan from School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) won the second prize for their work "Telling the Chinese Story: Exploration and Practice on Systematically Enhancing the Governance Capability of Talents in China".

Introduction to the Award

CPC General Secretary Mr. Xi Jinping pointed out that China should accelerate the construction of Chinese discourse and Chinese narrative system, interpret Chinese practice with Chinese theory, sublimate Chinese theory with Chinese practice, create new concepts, new categories, and new expressions that blend Chinese and foreign countries, and more fully and distinctly present the Chinese story and the ideological and spiritual power behind it. Political science and public administration are disciplines that undertake the vital task of interpreting and disseminating China's national governance practice, which points to the direction of our talents training, which urgently requires internalizing students' consciousness of telling the Chinese story and strengthening their ability to tell the Chinese story in governance talents training course.

The Shanghai Higher Education Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, which is evaluated every four years, is a comprehensive review and demonstration of the effectiveness of the college's talents training work and educational teaching reform and is currently the highest award from the government in Higher Education system in Shanghai.
