Dr.Jiannan Wu is Distinguished Professor and Executive Vice Directorof China Institute of Urban Governance and Head of Division and Liberal Arts and Social Science,Shanghai JiaoTong University, China. After obtaining his Ph.D. at School of Management at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in 1999, he was appointed as a postdoctoral research associate at Center for Technology and Information Policy (CTIP) of Maxwell Schoolof Citizenship and Public Affairsat Syracuse University until 2001. He also worked as a Fellow in Ash Center of Harvard Kennedy School in January-August 2012.

Yang Shen did her PhD in Gender Studies at the London School of Economics. She is an assistant professor in the School of International and Public Affairs at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Her PhD thesis looks at gendered experiences of migrant workers in the service sector in China. Her current research focuses on housing and intimacy and migrant housing in China. Her research interests lie in feminist theories, qualitative research methods, contemporary China studies, migration studies, and urban informal settlements.
